PROJECT SUMMARY AND POSITION OVERVIEW:
Analyst, Reuters Insider: The Insider Analyst will be our SQL programming expert, working with high-end Thomson Reuters software to validate and test fundamental and technical scans, screens, signals and models created by a team of quantitative analysts. The main job of the analyst will be to validate, test and improve the output generated by the team, whose output will be critical to the creation of multimedia programming aimed at investment managers and other market professionals. Our team will mainly be focused on deep fundamentals, as well as position and investing timeframes. The Insider Technical analyst also will help us test and improve signals derived from custom Thomson Reuters indicators, and contribute to the development of new technical indicators that will be used by our global analytical teams.
ESSENTIAL DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITY:
Helping to build custom scans, screens, systems and indicators.
Testing and validating the work of other analysts.
Improve the work of others.
EDUCATION:
BA required, preferably in Financial Engineering. MBA and/or an accounting and statistical background also is a plus.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Expert SQL programming experience.
Very strong modeling and spreadsheet skills.
Experience testing quantitative trading signals.
Broad global markets knowledge.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong data organization skills.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Proficiency in multiple Thomson Reuters products
-- A fundamental and technical background
-- Programming experience with Reuters MetaStock
-- The ability to help conceive and build new custom technical indicators
-- Experience with "R", an open source statistical modeling package
-- Experience writing scripting language
-- Ability to perform batch-file processing at the command prompt level
